There are few things more beautiful than Christmas in Rome, and you can make your sacred holiday in the Eternal City even more unforgettable with a special Christmas or New Year Concert.
The musical program includes classics of Italian opera (arias and duets), high points from the romantic piano repertoire, some Neapolitan songs and, of course, the greatest Christmas songs. The programme will dazzle you with celebrated out takes from classic opera works by greats such as Puccini and Verdi as well as from the catalogues of piano virtuosos like Liszt and Chopin.
THE ONLY PROFESSIONAL ALTERNATIVE TO THE FULL ORCHESTRA
For opera concerts, piano accompaniment undoubtedly represents
the only professional alternative
to the full orchestra. This has always been
amply witnessed by the seasons of the major world musical institutions.
No string quartet, strings and piano and so on.
The standard is with full orchestra or with piano.
Learn more about performing Opera Concerts.
Our Christmas & New Year Concerts are truly a unique experience because our hall allows only 80 people and the audience feel like taking part to a private concert. Performers are just feet from the spectators.
Internationally-acclaimed musicians will guide your experience of the music with commentary and anecdotes in English.
Immediately after the impressive concert, you will have the opportunity to meet the artists drinking Prosecco in the pleasant setting of a free Christmas Aperitivo, a small reception to round off your evening in a quintessentially Italian way. The free Aperitivo after the concert is a characteristic of Rome Opera Concerts to increase the sense of a "private event" through the opportunity to meet the artists and to know what they are trying to do with their performances. The Rome Opera Concerts free Christmas Aperitivo is very simple: some traditional and typical Italian Christmas sweets, such as Panettone and Pandoro, and some good sparkling wine (Spumante or Prosecco). The secret ingredient is friendship: to put sincere enthusiasm in making music and meeting the audience.
Rome Opera Concerts brings the Opera in Rome, in the full Heart of the City. The Rome Opera Concerts hall, warm and intimate, is in fact located at Via Venti Settembre 7, close to Quirinale Palace and the famous Via delle Quattro Fontane.
Our Christmas & New Year Concerts are suitable for everyone:
Both singers and the pianist were superb, but when the pretty young host joined in at the end and proved to be a fantastic singer too, I was amazed. The best Neapolitan songs of my life! The highlight of my visit to Rome: wonderful evening. Highly recommended!
Very emotional and touching to listen to the most beautiful liric's arias from so close to the singers and musicians. The charme of the location and the talent of the artists has made of this the best performance I have ever listen to!
We were looking for some musical experience in Rome and I found on the Internet this evening a presentation of classic Italian music - pops and recognized worldwide - with the participation of a pianist, tenor and soprano. So we bought the tickets and, on the night of December 26, we were there, sitting on the benches of a tiny Methodist church, located very close to Ponte Sant'Angelo - in Rome. It was a super experience and we had an excellent night.
Excellent concert, excellent and friendly singers, great pianist. They alsoserved a glass of champagne after the concert.
We thoroughly enjoyed the Christmas Opera Greatest Hits. My four children aged 10-18 were captivated and agreed that it is one of their most favourite concerts. The tenor, soprano and pianist were all superb. The church has a small and intimate setting, with good acoustic. Highly recommended.
