Our story
Opera in Rome since 2017
Rome Opera Concerts was founded in Rome in 2017 with the aim of bringing the great opera repertoire closer to a broad international audience through high-quality concerts and performances in an intimate, direct and engaging setting.
Each year we present an average of around 50 live concerts and performances, welcoming both opera lovers and guests discovering the great Italian and European musical tradition for the first time.
The first event in our history was Opera’s Greatest Hits. The success of that format led us to gradually expand our programme with themed concerts and chamber-style opera adaptations, while keeping artistic quality and a direct relationship with the audience at the heart of every production.
Our approach to opera
Accessible and engaging, without compromising on quality
We believe opera can be both great music and an accessible experience. Our programmes are designed in agile chamber-style formats and include short musicological introductions that help audiences discover the works, composers and stories behind the music.
The closeness between artists and audience creates a more immediate and personal experience than in a large theatre. When the venue and season allow, the concert is followed by a traditional Italian aperitivo: an informal moment to meet the artists and extend the experience of the evening.

Since 2017 our productions have been hosted in different venues in central Rome, selected for their character, acoustic quality and ability to create a close relationship between performers and audience.
For Rome Opera Concerts, a venue is never simply the place where a performance happens: history, architecture, atmosphere and music work together to create an evening that can leave visitors with an authentic memory of Rome.
An international audience
Music as a meeting point between cultures
Rome has always been a meeting place for different languages, cultures and traditions. Our audience reflects this international character, bringing together visitors from many countries, local residents and Italian opera lovers.
Music therefore becomes more than entertainment: it is also a form of encounter and cultural discovery, offering visitors to Rome a direct introduction to an essential part of Italian and European musical culture.
