The concert Opera Greatest Hits and Romantic Piano covers a wide array of well-known classics, in an intimate hall in which the musicians are just feet from the audience.
Arias and duets from opera greats, like Verdi, Puccini, Rossini, Donizetti, Bellini will sound between the hall walls. Exciting pieces for solo piano, by masters of the instrument like Chopin and Liszt, will be interpreted between the marvellous vocal performances.
Apart from the well-known classical numbers (“Nessun dorma”, “Sempre libera”, the “Nocturne Opus 9, No. 2” by Frédéric Chopin, etc.), Neapolitan songs by genre leaders such as “Funiculì funiculà”, “O sole mio” or “Torna a Surriento”, will round off the programme and give you an exquisite taste of Italian musical greatness.
THE ONLY PROFESSIONAL ALTERNATIVE TO THE FULL ORCHESTRA
Opera concerts
with piano
For opera concerts, piano accompaniment undoubtedly represents
the only professional alternative
to the full orchestra. This has always been
amply witnessed by the seasons of the major world musical institutions.
No string quartet, strings and piano and so on.
The standard is with full orchestra or with piano.
Learn more about performing Opera Concerts.
The concert Opera Greatest Hits and Romantic Piano is truly a unique experience because our hall allows only 100 people and the audience feel like taking part to a private concert. Performers are just feet from the spectators.
Internationally-acclaimed musicians will guide your experience of the music with commentary and anecdotes in English.
Immediately after the impressive concert, you will have the opportunity to meet the artists drinking Prosecco in the pleasant setting of a free Aperitivo, a small reception to round off your evening in a quintessentially Italian way. The free Aperitivo after the concert is a characteristic of RomeOperaConcerts to increase the sense of a "private event" through the opportunity to meet the artists and to know what they are trying to do with their performances. The RomeOperaConcerts free Aperitivo is very simple: some "mini pizzas" with tomato sauce and some good sparkling wine (Spumante or Prosecco). The secret ingredient is friendship: to put sincere enthusiasm in making music and meeting the audience.
RomeOperaConcerts brings the Opera in Rome, in the full Heart of the City. The hall of RomeOperaConcerts, warm, intimate and with excellent acoustics, is in fact located in Via Venti Settembre, a few meters from the Quirinale Palace, seat of the Presidency of the Italian Republic
The concert Opera Greatest Hits and Romantic Piano suits everybody:
A superlative performance! Tenor Fantini, Soprano Gibilisco, and Pianist Velluti all combined to create a wonderful evening of operatic and piano favorites. The soloists could perform world wide with distinction.
On my visits to Rome I have been to many such evenings - this was the best. And significantly at the lowest price!
Anyone wishing to indulge in an evening of well known operatic arias performed by consummate professionals - please go. You will not be disappointed.

It was the first time I went to an Opera show and it was fabulous, I absolutely loved it. I cried, I laughed, I smiled. They served a small bite and Prosecco at the end which complimented the show. Alessandro, Giovanni and Federica had a strong connection. I highly recommend this Opera show when in Rome.
Pianist was very talented. Singers were superb- both tenor and soprano. Also a delightful setting with great acoustics and cozy so everyone is very close to the performers. Sparkling wine and snacks afterwards a wonderful plus. Do yourself a favor and go!
The concert was amazing. You sit in a small church with not too many people and you have the musicians right in front of you. The acoustics are incredibly better than any opera house I have ever been in. Its a very personal atmosphere with very nice people.
We travelled Rome and Florence on our trip and had some amazing experiences, but I still
look back at this show and think that it had a certain magic that was totally unique and
intimate.
This is a very small church and the benches aren't the most comfortable. It wasn't what I
was initially envisaging when I booked.
However as soon as the performance began we were totally blown away. All three artists were
incredible and the acoustics in the church are haunting.
Towards the end of the performance the artists poured prosecco for the audience along with
some home baked bread.
Afterwards the internationally renowned artists chatted with the audience and we drank more
prosecco.
In summary - not quite what I was expecting - it was better and I'd highly recommend it as
a highlight of Rome!
Prachtige stemmen.
The two singers and pianist totally fill the small chapel with amazing sound. For me a one of a kind experience.
We were completely dazzled by the excellent singing, angelic voices, and maestro piano perfomance. It was the best rendition of Return to Sorrento I've ever heard, so moving, so powerful. Right across the river from Castel D'Angelo so it makes for a good combination visit. The limoncello cap off was an extra nice touch and set the friendly mood for us to interact with the performers afterwards. Would definitely look them up for another visit next time we're in Rome.
Beautiful intimate recital the pianist is so talented and both soprano and tenor are
truly out of this world. Very intimate setting. Makes the hairs stand up on your arms
and tears in your eyes. The sound blows you away! Our first opera event and it just made
us wanting more. A must see! For all ages!
You get a glass or two of prosecco at the end which just finishes off the evening
wonderfully.
We were so glad we stumbled upon romeconcerts.org and booked our tickets prior to leaving Australia on our 28 day holiday around Italy. Certainly one of the great highlights, being so close to the performers in an intimate setting in central Rome, experiencing the performers' passion for music. You must do this when you are in Rome - THE BEST experience!
Let me just say this, if you can only see one show in Rome, then this is it.
I was in Italy for 2 weeks, and saw several concerts here and there.
This is the most exciting one.
First, the performers were sooooo in the zone, that is what matters to me.
I have seen Hamilton in NYC, and the leading actress was slacking, which was irratating.
Second, it is very intimate, I have never see an opera singing this close, it was a very
different experience and very very touching.
Third, I would definitely come back for more.
Thank you, Rome Concert for this wonderful evening!!!!
Was a fabulous evening. We attended an opera in Siena which was inferior to the standard of performers in Rome. Very enjoyable.
The intimate opera recital was held in a small church with absolutely incredible aucoustis. I was bought to tears with the passion and being in Rome. The performance was nothing other than brilliant with Prosecco after it finished. Bravo
What a lovely evening! Blown away by the talent and skill of the pianist and performers. A must if you can! Very cosy atmosphere and worth every penny!
My family and I ordered tickets for this concert and it was wonderful.Great selection of opera arias and Neapolitan classics. Voices of angels. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE AN OPERA AFICIONADO TO ENJOY THIS MARVELOUS EVENING. The tiny soprano knocked us out with her powerful voice. The tenor sang with deep emotion and the pianist was excellent. If we had this quality of music at home, I would attend the concert every week.
Einfach toll!!
Klare Weiterempfehlung!
Amazing, cozy show..we loved every minute of it. It is done in a small church so its like a private concert. The singers are very talented and entertaining. Very passionate pianist and overall enjoyed the show alot. Thanks again!
So very glad that we chose to attend this marvellous recital. After a few days of sighseeing & criwds, what an utter delight to step inside this haven of pure sounds & listen to 1.5 hours of such sweet music. The singers & pianist were superb, performing a full range of classic operatic arias & music, in both duet & solo. Afterwards, free bubbly & snacks whilst listening to more & being able to chat with the artists. This type of experience would easily cost over AUD150 each at home, and all for €30 each. What a bargain. I urge all Aussies visiting Roma to include this concert in their itinerary. Bellissima!
Unbelievable performances tonight from these world-class performers - Monica cucca (Soprano), Alessandro Fantini (Tenor) and pianist Giovanni Velluti. THE BEST experience in Rome - small, intimate space makes you feel so much a part of each performance. We included this experience when planning our Rome trip from Australia and we are so glad we had this opportunity. Just do it!
This has got to be THE BEST experience you can have in crowded Rome. An intimate venue brings the music straight to you and you feel so much a part of each performance and the emotion of the music. We ordered our tickets early from Australia and were so enthralled with the experience. Get there!
Fabulous evening.... stunning pianist... superb Singers... 10/10 A truly Awesome experience... so glad we went!!!
Monica alessandro e roberto, a trio that drags you and enchants you in a cozy environment where you appreciate voices and sounds at best, while you feel like you're sitting in a nineteenth-century setting. we recommend them!
We stayed an extra day in order to see this and get tickets ! An intimate setting showcasing outstanding talent. The music literally gave me goosebumps it’s that good . It doesn’t get more ITALIAN than this!!!!
This show was one of the highlights of our visit to Rome and since it was our last evening in Rome, it was the perfect way to end our visit. I’ll never forget the virtuosity of the pianist and the powerful voices that soared to the heavens. Thank you to the artists and thank you to RomeConcerts for an unforgettable experience.
This was the first time we had been to opera. We decided as we were in Rome for a few days holiday we had nothing to lose going to see this as an introduction. Wow! We were blown away! It's a small church, nothing fancy, stark lighting, only two singers and a pianist. I spent most of the concert with a lump on my throat. The singers were absolutely beautiful. They took turns singing and then duetted after a while. Wonderful voices! Now onto the piano player. What can I say, he was amazing!! He did a few pieces on his own and wow what a talent! I felt privileged to have been a part of it and it has definitely made me want to go to the opera again. Also, a nice touch at the end handing out glasses of fizz. A great night
Great musical experience in the heart of Rome. This was our first experience and the small
beautiful setting with the talented musicians including the pianist was simply amazing.
Their passion for their music shone through.
Would love to attend again.
Great performance!Very contemporary.I love opera and this performance made my love to opera even stronger.I strongly recommend this to all who love music.
A magic evening in Rome, even if you are not an opera goer! Neapolitan songs too. Chat with singers. Full of emotion and beauty. Fantastic vocals.
The singers and pianist were very good in their performances and the acoustical ambience of the location lifted this musical to an encompassing show. It lasted for a bit more than an hour, which was adequate. This is certainly an experience to savour when in Rome.
What a beautiful show! So touching! The singers are so talented. All family, from children to the oldest felt involved and delighted. I don't have words to describe so incredible experience!! Bravo! Bravo! Bravo!!
Absolutely amazing performance and we spent very nice time with wonderful music.
This has to be the best and most magical musical experience I have ever experienced. Imagine two opera singers, a tenor and soprano, of the highest quality, singing some of the most famous arias and Neapolitan songs (Nessun dorma, Casta diva, Habanera, Core 'ngrato, ...), accompanied by an extraordinary pianist who also played some solo pieces (Chopin's Fantasie impromptu op. 66), and being seated only a few feet away, as if they were in your living room! That is exactly what this experience is. The church is tiny - literally only 5-10 pews, and with very nice acoustics. Even if you are a seasoned opera and concert goer, you will likely not have experienced anything like this. The singers, Alessandro Fantini and Monica Cucca, were absolutely wonderful and top rate. They are mature, experienced and highly accomplished opera singers, having sung professionally in many operas. I felt like I was listening to Giuseppe Di Stefano and Maria Callas (no exaggeration)! The pianist, Giovanni Velluti, is a distinguished pianist with a highly distinguished career. His accompaniment was perfect and sounded like an orchestra. While this review may sound over the top, it is NOT. This was really a very special experience that my family and I will not forget. After the concert was over, we enjoyed a glass of champagne and got to talk to the performers. This is an unforgettable event that is guaranteed to highlight your stay in Rome. If you love opera and bel canto singing of the highest quality, as well as solo piano, do yourself a favor and treat yourself to this concert. My guess is that this intimate experience won't last long, as they will eventually have to move to a larger venue as the word gets out and they get more and more popular. The location is in the church just opposite the Ponte Sant'Angelo. Not to be missed!
The program consisted beatyful arias and piano piecies. Very enjoyable. The artists vere charming.
An amazing evening with wonderfully talented people.
Fantastic evening of opera classics. Never experienced live opera before, highly recommended.
Great show that provided a taste of Italian Opera. Highly recommended
This concert was one of the highlights of our trip to Rome. We weren't sure what to expect since it is marketed for all ages and because it seemed less formal than some of the other events we considered, but we were blown away by the talent of the performers and by the complexity of the pieces they performed. The intimate space, along with the personal conversations we had after the show, really helped us feel connected to the experience. We were traveling with two teenage boys, both vocalists, and they were mesmerized. In fact, this was the first event of our travels, and it was hard to top! Please don't miss this show!
My family found the venue quite easily at the Ponte Sant'Angelo, just across the river from Castel Sant'Angelo. (You can get some fantastic night photos after the performance)! The neighborhood felt safe, and there were several excellent restaurants to choose from after the performance. We were immediately struck by the intimate venue. Even the farthest seats from the performers were perhaps only 40-50 feet away. The acoustics were great. The church pews were surprisingly comfortable. The staff checked everyone in quickly and with courtesy. The program flowed well, and the hour passed almost too quickly. The brilliant pianist provided brief explanations at appropriate moments during the evening. The program was a parade of bel canto favorites, alternating with Romantic era piano solos by Chopin and Liszt to let the singers rest from the demanding repertoire. The soprano filled the venue, surrounding the audience with her sweet and agile voice. At several moments during the performance, she ventured out through the audience, greatly magnifying that effect. The tenor soared through Puccini and Verdi effortlessly, an obvious veteran of those challenging pieces. He blended masterfully, providing a solid foundation during the duet portion of the performance. The first set alternated between the soprano, the tenor, and the pianist, while the second set combined the three in various duets. The program drew to a close with several Neapolitan favorites. After the much-deserved applause, they surprise you. I was expecting a mere mixer after the show, but the tenor pops the cork on a bottle of prosecco and begins to sing again while pouring. The soprano quickly joins, and they sing and pour until everyone is satisfied. They gladly stay for conversation and pictures afterward. It was a fantastic way to end the evening. This was easily one of the highlights of our visit to Rome. You get a professional performance, sitting closer than you would ever get in the opera house. As a musician myself, I give them my enthusiastic recommendation!
Beautiful performance! We enjoyed!
Excellent
A small Methodist church at the entrance to the Ponte di Angelo was an unexpected venue for a night of opera. I didn't know what to expect, but thought "When in Rome!". I was truly delighted by the skill and beauty of the musicians. The Pianist was world class, and I was smart to sit where I could see his hands move on the keys. The Soprano and the Tenor were fantastic. The three performers made me fall in love with opera! I would recommend this to anyone even slightly interested in listening to Opera sung in person.
Bravo. Beautiful concert.
Excellent concert the programme was well thought out, the artists were wonderful and performed beautifully. They were even dressed for the part. It was inspiring and a perfect end to a good day.
A highlight of our holiday in Italy was the Opera Christmas concert that we attended in Rome - within walking distance of Piazza Navona. We were spellbound by the talents of this professionally trained trio - pianist, soprano and tenor. We brought our school-aged children who were invited to accompany the performers in a rendition of some famous Christmas carols. So sweet! And meeting the performers at the end of the performance was a highlight. Thank you!
I saw RomeConcerts with Alessandro Fantini (tenor), Federica Gibilisco (soprano), and Giovanni Velluti (pianist) perform last night. They perform in small venues so you can get close, which is a real treat. It was a Christmas Concert. The concert alternated between arias, a piano piece, and then another opera with the greatest Napolina music like Funiculi, Funiculi and of course Ole Sole Mio. The pianist played Chopin and Liszt and told short anecdotes about their relationship with Italy at a time when most composers lived in Paris. Federica is a strong opera and she is a beautiful woman. The men will swoon. They signers wandered in and out of the crowd at the end let me take pictures with them. The tenor has a strong voice. The singers shared champagne with the audience. I have seen opera from the front row of the Met and the National Opera in Washington DC many times but this was the first time it was so close.
I have been there this week. It is a quite entertaining event. Highly recommended, particularly for those who wants to have a high level contact with opera by listening to some of the most famous arias in a live performance.
Wonderful, emotional, outstanding and we shall always cherish the memory. Amal & Sami RAIS
We went to hear this concert last week, it's really beyond our expectations. The small venue gives the audience close contact with the performers and the best experience. The performers are incredibly high level professionals. We love it so much, it's the best part of our Roman trip! Would love to go again next time!
Couldn't be better! It's definitely beyond our expectations. Small venue, limited audiences, but top level performances. It's one of the best experiences in our roman trip!
Exquisite music from three true virtuosos! One of the best things we did during two full weeks visiting Rome. Each person is incredibly accomplished and has worked around the world, and it shows. Each is a consummate professional. Flawless, masterful performances with passion, joy, and authentic engagement with the audience. A wonderful range of pieces, and the perfect length overall (less than 90 minutes). Do not miss this! It will enrich your heart, mind, and soul to hear these spectacular musicians.
I have visited Rome many times but this has to be one of my all time favourite experiences!
An intimate church provides a stunning setting for a truly beautiful evening. Perfect for
visitors wanting to experience some of the most well known operatic arias without the intensity
of a full opera.
The piano and the vocals took us to heaven. Was a truly perfect experience. Bring a tissue because
the atmosphere may sweep you away. Afterwards there’s a chance to mingle with the performers who
are all extremely lovely. I cannot wait to return. Thank you.
This was a highlight of being in Rome and that of course, says a lot. The pianist, tenor and soprano were excellent. I highly recommend this performance and I hope we can attend when we are here next year.
Great Voices, an excellent pianist, nice program. I really enjoyed this opera concert. I can warmly recommend it.
Wow, the perhaps best music experience in our lives. The sheer power and beauty of this was outstanding. We will be back to try this one more. Not for the sake of Rome - but for the sake of RomeConcerts...
What says Italy more than opera? We spent more than an hour and a half immersed in some of our favorite opera arias and duets. Throw in some excellent piano pieces from Liszt and Chopin and you have a wonderful start to a romantic Italian weekend. Step outside after the performance and you are within walking distance of some of Rome's best restaurants.
My partner agreed, reluctantly, to accompany me to this performance on a spur of a moment
impulse but to her surprise we both loved it. It felt so intimate and so wonderfully right
in Rome. Like the music as it might have been performed when it was originally written - no
vast stage with tiny figures glimpsed through binoculars and the sound coming from multiple
speakers but right up close and personal. The sweat and the sawdust to borrow a phrase from
boxing.
I'm no classical expert but the music was uplifting and invigorating - think mosh pit with
chairs & nibbles and wine afterwards. Alternatively imagine yourself on your 18C Grand Tour
taking in the experience of Rome with a personal concert. Whatever - do yourself a favour
and book.
